TNJ Drifter aka as Drifter adopted me in 2008 at age 4. An ex racing greyhound he was a delightful and very special companion and loved by many who got to know him.  He crossed over to Rainbow Bridge on Dec 5th 2013. My memories of him and his loving companionship will be with me forever.

"Smokey is forever loved and deeply missed by Tim and Kim"

Smokey was born on December 31, 2000 (yep, New Year’s Eve which meant the whole world celebrated his birthday!)   We picked him up on February 26, 2001 and our lives were forever changed for the better.  We named him Smokey Fridea (pronounced “free-day-uh”) which was a combination of Fried and Gardea but over the years he was known as  Nubby, The Nubster, Nubbynubster, My Little Boo Boo, Bud, Sweetheart, Mr. Kissy Face, Honey Bear, Honey Pants, Tinky, Twinx, Twinky Bear, Tweenie, Twee-Tween and Mr. Woofy Wooferton, just to name a few.  He was the cutest little stud you’ve ever seen.  Those big brown eyes (his left with all white eyelashes and his right with all black and 1 single white eyelash) would melt your heart in an instant.  He was SO full of personality and spunk.  We have a million cherished memories of the silly things he did and loved.

He was skilled at slipping a slimy toy behind your back or on your seat, leaving lovely wet marks when you stood up.  He ate our couch, literally, leaving nothing but a wooden stump. He loved chewing up cardboard boxes and hated anything shiny or reflective.  Watch out DVDs and flashlights!  He loved to bury himself in freshly folded piles of warm laundry.  When it was time to change the sheets, he’d wait until the bed was completely stripped then jump up and lay in the middle of the bed and refuse to move until we remade the bed on top of him.  We built him a sandbox for the back porch after he kept getting carpet burn on his nose from trying to bury his bones inside the house.  Every now and then he’d bend his ears back, tuck his tail in and sprint through the house like a complete nutcase, plowing over everything in his path.  We usually just jumped up on the couch and stayed out of his way until he got it out of his system.  He liked to surprise you in the shower by sticking his head in and licking your leg.  He loved camping, chewing sticks and digging in the dirt.  He had his own sleeping bag and we are the only people I know who specifically chose a tent because it had doggie doors.  He always liked to sit close to the fire and we’d have to keep a close eye for sparks that frequently started smoldering in his butt and/or camping sweater.  We have no idea how he knew which presents were his under the Christmas tree, I mean, it’s not like we wrapped them in front him, but somehow he knew exactly which ones had his name on the tag.  We’d put them at the very back of the Christmas tree and somehow he’d sniff them out and wiggle his way in and all you’d see is a tree with presents and a tail sticking out.

We could go on forever, but we’ll just end by saying he was the absolute best dog in the whole world, we were truly blessed to have him in our lives.  If love could have saved him he would have lived forever.  Thank you God for letting us be he parents.  He brought us more love and joy than we could have ever imagined.

Take care kiddo, we’ll see you at the Rainbow Bridge.

"Yasmin and I adopted Alaric as a kitten a little over three years ago. It didn’t take us long to realize he was a very unique individual. I say “individual,” because his behavior seemed more human than cat. Apart from being extremely loving and affectionate, he had a designated armchair in which he would sit like a person, he often slept on his back, he chirped/talked (hardly ever meowed), and had a care-free philosophy to life. He also successfully opened drawers and cabinets in the house, and made close, but unsuccessful attempts at opening doors. Additionally, he acquired more nicknames than anyone I know (Captain Fluff, the Lord of all that is fluffy, Gatito Man, our son, Poofles, Floofle, Fluffle-Dink, Bubba, Baboo, among others). Above all, he loved people as much as a cat possibly can, and was our little buddy.

Now that Alaric is gone, the emptiness that both Yasmin and I feel in the house can’t be overstated. In just three years, he had become such a huge source of joy that his absence hovers over us like a cloud. We don’t feel as though we lost a pet; we feel as though we lost a family member, a friend, because we did.

Over time, we will learn to look back and smile or laugh, thinking about Alaric’s adorable and goofy and antics. After all, that’s probably what he would have wanted.

describe the image

Who is Screamer and What does he like:

He loves a good armpit rub and would lay there all day if you never stopped. With both arms straight out in the air and a look of complete satisfaction on his little face.

He loves to attack my sonicare toothbrush as I'm trying to use it.

He loves to sleep in the bathroom sink.

He loves laying by the slider in the morning to sunbathe with the breeze blowing on him just a little and then catch the sunsetting in the front room for an afternoon nap.

He loves to sit with me to watch and listen to the Decorah eagles raise their eaglets.

He loves to nibble on your elbows and ankles (Only bony parts are good) to get you to move over so he can steal the warm spot from where you are sitting.

He loves to steal my pillow and side of the bed, but only if I'm in it of course. The king bed was to small for him :)

He loves to follow Jurgen around stalking him to let him know he is ready for his lunch or dinner or  25th snack. He wouldn't give up till he gets what he wants. There is no hiding from him.

He loves to snuggle with Misty and to sit on Jazz to get him to move over and share the heating pad.

He loves to partake in Jurgen's Texas conference calls (Just in case he is needed).

He loves to watch and chatter at the birds from the back deck.

He loves to push his face through the circle you make with your hand and round off the corners of the coffee table with his little face rubbing.

He loves to sit quietly on the night stand like it's his perch and stare at you till you give in to his wants.

He loves to comb and snuggle in my hair before bed only to fall asleep and leave me a big drool spot (happy drool).

He loves petro malt right out of the tube and never misses a drop.

He loves blueberry bagels and if you dare bring one to the house be prepared to be stalked and harassed till you run away or give into his demands.

He loves to sit on the bathroom scale and watch me get ready. Chirping at me if he thinks I forgot anything.

He loves to track kitty litter across an entire house and up 13 stairs down the hall and in to bed (how he does this we will never know :)

He loves to scamper down the hall to the kitchen while looking over his shoulder to make sure you didn't get lost or forget where you are supposed to be going.

He is kind spirited and has the biggest gentlest heart. He is the kitty that everyone wants to take home (Even the non kitty loving and the very allergic to kitties people) and is always a gentleman. Never any attitude  or snobbishness. Just unconditional love and trust with a hint of feed me right now..... He does have a under 3 foot rule.. If your under 3 feet you must only pet me if you're supervised or I'm out of here (Thanks to my little sister's tail pulling days). He has the biggest beautiful warm green eye's. He purr's at just the slightest touch and drools with a good rub.

I could go on and on about Screamer and what he loves. When I think of him the first thing I think is " My Perfect Little Man".

A short letter to May May:

May May, You were always strong, loving, kind and playful.  The joy and love you brought to our family will be in our hearts forever.  Thank you for everything you did for us, May May.  We love you and will miss you on our camping trips every summer.  Wish we could give you tummy rubs and you could take us for walks.  Everytime we come home, we'll be missing your joyful bark and at night, we'll miss your nudging to go to bed.  Our hearts are sad right now but we hope to find peace remembering the good times we shared.
